Re: Season Calendar
Just a thought but perhaps we can have Qualifying on a different day or several sessions at an earlier time. I know you guys have a lot of work trying to hash out 30 drivers into 3 different rooms. Not to mention any delays that other rooms have due to technical issues.

This was mentioned in Lobby C, as well. Delays caused Mykoo to leave due to late hour.

Re: Season Calendar
Out of interest what time do your sessions start. I've probably missed it somewhere but having just looked through the threads I cannot see a start time noted anywhere.

Re: Season Calendar
Time to re-use the division system, then lobbies can run qually and race without needing to re-start anything.
mucho fastero.
just have a week before series start to sort division each series. lets be honest it will mainly be the smae ppl racing eachother each week anyway, why tit about waiting for invites when we can be racing.

Re: Season Calendar
The division system didn't really work out last time we tried it, that's why it hasn't come back for this series. At least this way you have to stay on your toes practicing every week to get good points and also everyone has an equal opportunity to try and make the highest points tier lobby during quali at each track we go to. It definitely helps keep life in the available championships. I think a better alternative to bringing back divisions is having official qualifying sessions on multiple days leading up the race (as Rebel is offering to do today) to determine the A,B,C etc. lobby order well before the actual time of the race. This saves a lot of time as Webbers wouldn't have to rush and figure out all the lobby starting orders every Sunday as people wait around.d4ninho wrote:Time to re-use the division system, then lobbies can run qually and race without needing to re-start anything.

Re: Season Calendar
Yeah that was my idea too! multiple qualifying sessions before RaceDay then everyone is ready to go at 8pm BMT Sunday. We do need to have a sign up for the different pre-designated Quallys though.

Re: Season Calendar
Yeah the multiple qualifying sessions work as we did them for the 1000km race.
Best solution to speed things up.
Divisions just create a divide between the community.

Yeah to follow on from Toast and Aid, the division system was creating a literal division in the community. There became a definite air of us versus them which just wasn't good for the community.
In terms of the qualifying also happening on a different day, this is something that has a real benefit with the new game. However I do not see a need for it to be a permanent fixture. Not everyone will be able to commit to 2 separate days, week in week out. This issue we have at the moment is purely down to getting ourselves more efficient. Once we are all more familiar with the game and how it works then we will get our race nights down in terms of time. A target that is perfectly achievable is 2 hours. We will be working towards this.

Re: Season Calendar
Just a suggestion, but I think we really need consider track temps and conditions based on Current/Custom Dates and Location. ie. Track Temp at RBR was 0'C in the rain on October 22nd. Now we're pushing that date back 2 more weeks.

Re: Season Calendar
ok i see you dont like divisions, but, AOR do it this way and have done for ages, it works.
its more of a class, they offer a track before the start of the season and ask all sign ups to put in a time, this is then used to put drivers in the correct class, a,b, or c.
You then race that series in that class, you know who your lobby hosts are and who your racing against.
You have lots of admin here now so can even have multiple lobbies in each class, titles are then up for grabs in each class giving you more to race for, rather than winning lobby 2 but only finishing 15th overall you actually win your class race.
if it creates splits is says more about the racers rather than the class system, why put ppl in lobbies who are 5 maybe 6 seconds apart, it hinders both parties during qually too.
the division system works, its the way its put into action and drivers within it that make it fail.
it works and has done at AOR for years.
maybe have a re think....

Re: Season Calendar
Hello again Dan. So we did talk, at length, about divisions and had many concepts. One proposition saw the fastest guys in (for example) lmp 1s, then lmp2s, then the obligatory gt3’s. Seperate lobbies.
The alternative was blanket scoring over two lobbies. So p1 in lobby 2 was actually p17.
I tested what could have been our signature method with assetto, where there was only one race lobby but as many quali lobbies as needed and if you wanted to race, you had to set a top 16 qualifying time. This in itself was a big event and made qualifying exciting and rally encouraged people to start pushing themselves and their use of set ups etc. It was incredible, not that I am biased... ha!
Again, there were very heated debates over the issue but one thing is a given. We are not AOR and are not intending to be a copycat site. AOR have their way and it works for many people but what we hope to (eventually) achieve is something that appeals to everyone else and gives us a strong presence of our own.
We are trying to stick to the motto ‘something for everyone, not everything for someone’.
We have done some things better than other sites, and some things have fallen short, but we are all on a big learning curve and get zero reward for all the time and efforts we put in, especially when every title we race and rally in has problems.... but we keep plugging away. Hopefully something will come along soon that ticks all your boxes buddy!
